[1.4.0.136] – 2023 – 10 – 22

  • A preview of the activities and files is shown in the main window. Now, you can see the content of the files without the need to export the course first
  • Additional option to use generic names for the extracted files and folders. For more information, read here
  • New Installer

Changed

  • Improved management of long names of folders and files. mbex attempts to activate the long filename feature on Windows. Many thanks to h.m. for the help 😎
  • Various UI improvements

[1.3.0.135] – 2023 – 08 – 31

Added

  • Exports Moodle Assignments (including submission files and grade marks). Many thanks to p.j. for helping with this 💡 💡 💡
WARNING: This action may violate the law in relation to personal data (e.g., GDPR). Check what applies in your region
  • When a .mbz file is large, mbex may need some time to scan the content. In many instances, it appeared that the application had frozen. A new visual has been added to indicate that a long process is in progress
  • Option to save the content of the log window to a .csv file
  • Settings form
  • Update functionality
  • Search functionality
  • Added a buymeacoffee.com link. Please consider it…I like coffee 😉

Changed

  • When a file is exported, mbex adds a prefix to the filename. In instances where multi-language content exists that points to the same filename, the exported content did not replicate the structure of Moodle. This behaviour can be disabled in Export Settings. Many thanks to t.m. for the comments and bringing the issue to my attention 💡 💡 💡
  • Paypal Donations have been replaced with a Buy Me a Coffee link
  • Reference to open-source software amended

[1.2.0.111] – 2022 – 11 – 19

Added

  • Progress indicator for scanning and checking the backup file

Fixed

  • Many times the naming of activities generates long filenames and Windows doesn’t like it. Whenever possible, mbex truncates the path and filenames to please Windows
  • Moodle content creators feel creative and use characters in the naming of activities (e.g., ‘.’, ‘/’, etc.) that cause anaphylaxis to Windows. mbex replaces illegal path and filename characters with an underscore (‘_’)
